The Singapore Zoo, also known as Mandai Zoo, is an open concept zoological garden with one of the most beautiful wildlife park settings in the world.
All animals are kept in landscaped enclosures, and roam freely in a setting resembling their natural habitats. This concept has proven to be so effective that the zoo has even managed to give birth to Inuka, the world’s first polar bear to be born in the tropics.
The massive bio-dome spreads over 68 acres of land is one of the largest in the world. With more than 2,400+ animals representing 300 species of wildlife (26% of which are threatened species), Singapore Zoo has a lot to offer and promises a memorable time for you and your family.
From the savannahs of Africa to the Frozen Tundra, the diversity of wildlife and habitats is extraordinary. Explore the Australian landscape to spot Kangaroos, the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia to come face to face with the baboons and watch deadly cats in their full might as they roam about the African landscape. Besides spotting these rare species, you will also get to engage with the animals, be it having breakfast with orangutans, watching the elephants play or witnessing the sea lions and seals put on a show for you! Know Before You Go
Important Information:
- We regret to inform you that the sealion and penguin habitats in Singapore Zoo will be undergoing a major revamp and will close from 15 July 2024, with works expected to be completed in 2027.
During this period, visitors interested in seeing the sealions can enjoy the Splash Safari Presentation, held daily at 10:30am and 5:00pm in Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre.
Additionally, visitors may have the opportunity to encounter the sealions and penguins through the Breakfast in The Wild program as well

Breakfast In The Wild Program:
- Breakfast In the Wild (BITW) program begins at 9am and ends at 10.30am daily.
- A timely arrival at 9am is crucial for you to enjoy the full experience.
- Do expect an approximately 10-minutes’ walk from the Singapore Zoo entrance to Ah Meng Restaurant (Terrace).
- The animal appearance time starts at 9.15am and ends at 10am and is now a 45-minutes segment (Please note the animal appearance time is not fixed and is subject to rotation due to weather and animal conditions.)
