With a history dating back to 1887, the National Museum of Singapore is the nation’s oldest museum with a progressive mind. Beneath its 19th-century colonial exterior, its galleries adopt cutting-edge and multi-perspective ways of presenting history and culture to redefine conventional museum experience. A cultural and architectural landmark in Singapore, journey through 700 years of Singapore's history and explore over 1,700 historical and cultural artefacts at the museum’s permanent galleries such as Singapore History Gallery, Life in Singapore: The Past 100 Years Galleries, and Goh Seng Choo Gallery. The Singapore History Gallery charts the development of the island as it was known through the years as Singapura, Crown Colony, Syonan-To, and finally, Singapore. Spanning the last 100 years, four galleries in The Life in Singapore Galleries – Modern Colony, Surviving Syonan, Growing Up and Voices of Singapore, present snapshots of everyday life in different decades of Singapore’s history. The Goh Seng Choo Gallery features a selection of drawings from the museum’s prized William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings that highlights the rich natural history of Southeast Asia.

  • To use: Please present either mobile or printed voucher at Visitor Services counter on level 1 exchange for admission.

Operational Hours:

  • Daily 10AM - 7PM

Experience's Remarks:

  • National Museum is FREE for Singaporean citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents, Children six years of age and under (any nationality).
  • Free admission for student who studied in Singapore's 100% government schools, Government Aided Schools/ Independent Local Schools, and Singapore Universities regardless of any nationalities.
  • Concession is for Child (7-17), Senior, Students, and Special Access Visitor
  • Special Access: apply for Person With Disabilities (PWD), the accompanying caregiver will enjoy free admission.
