Itinerary:

Meet at New Miyako Hotel, Sunrise Tours Desk:

  • Pickup time: 17:00-17:30
  • You are advised to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the final assigned time. 

Gion Corner:

  • Duration: 50 minutes
  • This tour allows you to enjoy watching/experiencing Japanese traditional performances, including Japanese traditional dance, Noh, Kyogen, Bunraku, koto, tea ceremony, and Japanese traditional flower arrangement.
Gion Historical Preservation District:
  • Take a stroll around the Gion Historical Preservation District while heading to the Yoshi-ima Ryokan from Gion Corner. Enjoy exploring the narrow streets with many old ochaya (Japanese-style teahouses providing meals and performances of maiko girls and geiko women).
Tea Ceremony and Dinner at Yoshi-ima Ryokan:
  • Duration: 70 minutes
  • Enjoy an exclusive private evening tea ceremony under candlelight at Yoshi-ima Ryokan's tea ceremony room Kurenaitei. 
Tour Ends at Yoshi-Ima Inn:


  • 21:00
  • Drop off services to designated hotels in Kyoto are available.


Tour Notes:

  • The dinner menu consists of vegetarian-friendly Buddhist cuisine. 
  • Menu: Tempura (tofu, wheat starch, tofu skin, eggplant, lotus root, ginger, shiitake mushroom and other seasonal vegetables), miso soup, and rice. Bonito stock is used as dipping sauce for tempura.
  • Warnings of the activity:

- Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

- Children under 5 years of age are not permitted. Thank you for your understanding.
- Please be aware that at Gion Corner participants may have to watch while standing if it is crowded.
