Nuuksio is located 30 km away from Helsinki. The tour includes Helsinki-Nuuksio-Helsinki route by bus with an English-speaking guide, a guided walk in the forest of the National Park and a visit to Haltia nature centre. Ranked amongst the top 10 nature attractions in Finland, Nuuksio National Park is inhabited by various animals, including such rare species as the Siberian flying squirrel, found in Europe only in Finland and Estonia. After your hike around the park and its many trails, you will visit Haltia, a unique nature centre which brings all of Finland’s nature under one roof. Haltia’s exhibitions take you on a tour of the country to experience nature in its most spectacular forms. You will get to see, hear and feel nature! The main exhibition takes you from the Finnish Archipelago to the fells of Lapland, offering an authentic experience of Finland’s beautiful nature in all seasons. At the core of the exhibition are Finland's 39 national parks. At the restaurant in Haltia there's a possibility to enjoy lunch, snacks or drinks. Itinerary: 11:30 Departure from Helsinki, Esplanade park (Fabianinkatu) 12:15 Arrival in Nuuksio. Walking tour in the forest (approx. 1h). During the walking tour you will get familiar with the nature of the National Park. After the walking tour you'll get to visit Haltia - the Finnish Nature Centre. Trial connections with signposts from Haltia to different parts of Nuuksio are currently undergoing restoration

You can hike to Haltia from the edges of the Nuuksio lake uplands - from the Pirttimäki, Salmi and Oittaa gates, for example

Maximum group size: 8 persons. Children under age 16, accompanied by at least 1 adult, can join for free

Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately

Please wear comfortable shoes

The trails & their lengths:

Salmi–Haukkalampi–Haltia hiking trail, roughly 14 km

Veikkola–Haukkalampi–Haltia hiking trail, roughly 13.6 km

Oittaa–Haltia hiking trail, roughly 11 km

Pirttimäki–Haltia hiking trail, roughly 7 km

Klassari gate–Haukkalampi–Haltia hiking trail, roughly 12.5 km

Nupuri gate–Haltia pedestrian and bicycle way, roughly 8 km

Warnings of the Activity:

A moderate amount of walking is involved. The 1 hour walk (2 km) is easy, but there are some hills along the route

Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair
