Taipei Zoo is one of the top ten city zoos in the world. It can be reached by MRT Wenhu Line. There are more than 400 animal species in the park, the largest zoo in Southeast Asia. The display areas in the zoo are Animal Area, Children's Zoo, Insectarium, Education Center, Koala House, Panda House (Xinguang Special Exhibit House), and more. The zoo is an educational museum with life diversity that and serves a conservation area for wildlife animals.

Optionally take a return journey on the Maokong Gondola gliding over the pretty treetopped slope to the mountain village of Maokong. The Gondola stops at Taipei Zoo Station, Taipei Zoo South Station, Zhinan Temple Station and Maokong.

Operational Hours:

Maokong Gondola: Closed Mondays, except for the first Monday of each month from 10AM - 6:30PM.
Taipei Zoo: Open daily 9AM - 5PM.
Fern Garden: Open daily 9AM - 5PM.
Taipei Zoo Educational Center:
- Closed on monday.
- 9AM - 5PM
Taipei Zoo Giant Panda House: Open daily 9:10AM - 5:10PM.
African lions: Open daily 9AM - 5PM.
Last entry to Taipei Zoo: 4PM.
Taipei Zoo is closed on the Lunar New Year's Eve and late June

- Children 18 years of age and under - please purchase tickets onsite.
- Free of charge: Children 6 years of age and under, and persons 65 years of age and over.
Maokong Gondola:
- The Maokong Gondola is valid for two journeys, and an exit at any stop will count as one trip. Stops: Taipei Zoo Station, Taipei Zoo South Station, Zhinan Temple Station, and the Maokong Station
- Please purchase tickets at venue for children 6 to 12 years of age, and persons 65 years of age and over
- Free of charge: Children 6 years of age and under
