Bukhansan National Park
Sitting around one of the seven grand mountains located within the city, Bukhansan National Park, is easily accessible for all kinds of hikers. The trails are divided into basic and advanced courses making it easier for hikers to choose which trail suits them best! From the peak, known as Baegundae and sitting at an elevation of 836.5 metres, you can get an incredible bird’s eye view of Seoul. Seoraksan
One of the highest peaks in the city and lauded as one of the most beautiful, Seoraksan, has multiple starting points making every journey up the mountain a special one. These different trails also have different charms so check on the trails as there are chances to find caves, valleys and streams on your hike up. This hike up takes about 13 hours in total and can be spread over two days where you can even find shelters! At the peak, you will find Gwongeumseong Fortress, a former site of a castle.
Gwanaksan
Standing at 630m and located in southern Seoul, Gwanaksan’s course is more challenging as it is rocky and rugged. However, it is all worthwhile as you walk through the ridges and to the base of a waterfall. There are six different peaks here where you can enjoy the views as you go on. On your way down, walk along a number of streams and enjoy everything nature in Seoul has to offer.
