Dubrovnik is a beautiful city by the sea and for a long time in history, the sea was the main source of commerce and strength for the city and its people. The Maritime Museum along the city walls boasts incredible and informative exhibits which all can enjoy and learn from. The Red History Museum keeps within its premise the story of the long history of the region under Communist rule. House in the city’s last Socialist-era factory, there is an interactive experience with an augmented reality app which encourages guests to proactively take part in learning. One of the most popular tourist stops, War Photo Limited, showcases photos taken by renowned photojournalists who have documented conflict through their professional lenses. These photos are part of a permanent collection and even include photos from recent conflicts in the Balkans. Beautiful, jarring and necessary, this museum will definitely open your eyes to the realities of war.

Rector’s Palace

One of the most impressive buildings in the city, Rector’s Place is also historically the seat of the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa. Within the premises, you can find an armory, watch house and even a prison. The building is also inspired by many styles including Gothic and later due to restoration projects, there are also elements of Renaissance and Baroque. At the entrance, you can also find some intricate details of Greek mythology.
