Boeuf

It doesn’t take a Francophone to guess what the star of Boeuf is. This newly-opened establishment is situated along the buzzy Telok Ayer Street, and brings a smorgasbord of beefy delights to the table.

Indulge in a selection of choice cuts from various breeds of cattle such as Argentinian black angus and Australian angus wagyu. Pair that good protein with some of its specially selected cow cheeses, and then you’re truly in for a treat. Oh, don’t forget to add a side of its signature hand-cut fries, cooked in glorious beef fat, to the mix.

YEN Social is the newly-opened sister restaurant of the well-known YEN Yakiniku. It is helmed by yakiniku maestro, Chef Jones Chen, who has created the ideal yakiniku experience for beef lovers in a communal dining format.

The social in its name isn’t just for show. Unlike YEN Yakiniku, diners here can enjoy the fun of cooking easy-to-grill cuts themselves. At the same time, skilled grill chefs will be ready to help with the parts that require more care, grilling them to nothing short of perfection. True to its reputation as a yakiniku and dry-aged beef specialist, the various cuts of beef have been individually selected for the best balance between marbling, texture, and flavours.

Firangi Superstar

The relatively new Firangi Superstar presents itself as a foreigner’s love letter to India. If you couldn’t already tell, this is certainly not your typical Indian restaurant.

Aside from marvelling over its Wes Anderson-esque decor, its unconventional, tongue-in-cheek dish names such as This Is Not Aloo Gobi, a mod take on a traditional staple, and its Prata Waffle ???, an Indian spin on the American favourite of fried chicken and waffles, are sure to elicit more than a smile. It’s here that diners can also find the Indian flavours they know and love, elevated in some unconventional (but astoundingly delicious) forms.

Address: 20 Craig Rd, #01-03, Singapore 089692

Hours: Monday–Friday from 12–3pm and 5:30–10:30pm; Saturday from 5:30–10:30pm; Closed on Sunday

Located in CHIJMES, Casa by Remy Lefebvre is a new spot led by Rémy Lefebvre, a French chef with almost two decades of experience working in internationally-renowned restaurants. Celebrating the seasons through produce, you’ll find the focus on seafood rather than meat at this establishment. In fact, only one land animal is served each day.

With a focus on contemporary wood-fired gastronomy, you’ll be surprised by how Rémy Lefebvre marries fire and food together, playfully integrating them into daily menus. Did we mention that all ingredients used here, be it seafood or produce, is sustainably caught and sourced? Time to pick up the phone and snag a reservation.

Naeum

Korean cuisine and fine dining hardly go hand-in-hand, but chef Louis Han is here to change that at Naeum. This new but already popular restaurant focuses on contemporary Korean cuisine — heralded by the usual Korean flavours, but with global influences. From the gentle woody tones and soft colour palette, the premise exudes a homely comfort that you might find in the food as well.

It’ll give you a glimpse into the life of chef Han, drawing from his experiences growing up in Korea, followed by various stints in different countries. After all, the episodic menu is a culmination of his favourite ingredients and flavours, all-in-one. It is why diners will, through its five-course dinner, find ingredients such as kimchi and caviar placed side-by-side. Call it wacky, but it's also unabashedly fun and exciting.
