Looking for the most Insta-worthy cafe in Batam? Or maybe you’re just out to find a good place for brunch. Regardless, we’re here to help! Here are some of the best cafes in Batam that have great ambience, food, music, or all of the above.

Socialite’s Crib Cafe & Bar

Socialite’s Crib is the place for you if you’re into al fresco dining. This two-storey cafe has an open-air rooftop dining area and it’s absolutely Insta-worthy; it’s also where they host live music performances.

This isn’t your usual cafe, though, as it’s only open at 3 pm. It caters to the evening crowd and their menu reflects that. We recommend their hearty beef burgers paired with a cold one to wash it down.

A banana milkshake costs IDR27,000/SGD2.7

Address: Komp. Royal Sincom blok C no. 18-19, Batam Centre

Anchor Cafe & Roastery

This is the cafe to go to for North American breakfast classics like eggs benedict and grilled cheese. They’ve also got Southern comfort food like mac and cheese and chili dogs. Most importantly, this cafe takes their coffee seriously; their selection of beans range from local coffee to Ethiopian. We recommend Anchor Cafe if you want something that’s hearty and filling.

Coffee prices start at IDR25,000/SGD2.5 (double shot espresso)

Address: Dermaga Culinary Paradise Blok RF #11, 29462 Batam

Lee’s Cafe & Bar

Ever walk into a cafe that gives off the “warm hugs” vibe? Lee’s Cafe takes it to the next level with cuddly teddy bears. This cafe has an obsession with teddy bears and we love it. That isn’t all they have going for them, though. Lee’s is known for their Korean food which Batam has been crazy about lately. We recommend their army stew and their soufflés for dessert.

Coffee prices start at IDR18,000/SGD1.8 (espresso)

Address: Jalan Pembangunan, Ruko Penuin Centre Blok JA 1-2, Batam

Caffein Cafe

Calling all sweet tooths! Caffein Cafe offers some of the best selection of cakes in Batam. They’ve also got a wide selection of tea to go with your cake, some of which include white tea and peppermint tea. We recommend their scrumptious Oreo cheesecake and their seafood risotto for something savoury.

Caffein Cafe is also near Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre; it’s perfect for a stop after a shopping spree.

Coffee prices start at IDR25,000/SGD2.5 (latte)

Address: Komp. Ruko Mall Nagoya Hill blok R3-A3A, Batam

One Dozen Cafe

One Dozen Cafe is perhaps the best seafood cafe in Batam. If you’re familiar with Singapore’s Dancing Crab, One Dozen has a similar concept. Granted, the portions aren’t as huge, however. The SGD22 “L” sized crab platter should feed 2 people, 3 at most. We recommend their local dishes like the nasi goreng special which comes at around SGD2.90!

Coffee prices start at IDR19,000/SGD1.9 (espresso)

Address: Kompleks Mahkota Raya Block F no 8-9, Batam Center

My Garden Restaurant, Cafe & Bar

This is a cafe like no other. As the name suggests, you’re dining in a lush open-air garden at this cafe. You’ll find a diverse range of dining spaces from luxurious private rooms to charming huts. We recommend the hearty Carnivore Set and the pizzas, it’s the crowd favourite! Like Socialite’s Crib, it’s also only open at 3 pm.

Address: Ruko Bida Asri 2 no 9, Batam

Chemistree

Chemistree is another Insta-worthy two-storey cafe. The interior is rustic yet modern at the same time; the huge glass windows and the slightly exposed beams really elevate the look. Try their fragrant baked penne pasta and their tender chicken steak.

Coffee prices start at IDR25,000/SGD2.5 (espresso)

Address: Ruko Raffles City blok A1, Batam

Tea Box

Tea Box serves some of the best home-cooked meals. You have the 11 mothers who opened the cafe to thank for that. Apart from local favourites, they’ve got Western food like pizzas and squid ink pasta. It’s in a shopping centre but it still looks Insta-worthy for a mall cafe. You can certainly feel a mother’s love from the decor they’ve picked out.

Coffee prices start at IDR10,000/SGD1 (espresso)

Address: Ruko Khazanah Plaza Blok.R No.8 & 9, Sukajadi, Batam
