Boracay is famous for its white sand and blue sea beaches, making it a tropical haven for many travelers to just chill out and enjoy the day in nature. So naturally, we have compiled a list of the best beaches that you have to check out during your stay.
White Beach
Occupying half of the West Coast, White Beach stretches for four kilometers and is divided into three zones. Zone one features luxury hotel accommodation while Zone two is the busy shops and restaurants area. Zone three, Angol, has the most laid back vibe, catering to backpackers.
Diniwid Beach
Just slightly beyond Zone one of White Beach is a secluded bay away from the parties. The sand is just as white and there is a statue of the Virgin Mary. With magnificent cliffs and rocks formations, the seawall walk is not to be missed.
Puka Beach
This beach used to have many Puka shells found along its shoreline. Hence, the sand is not as fine as the previous beaches but it is still white and soft under your feet. There are some stalls selling food and souvenirs along the road but it is recommended for you to bring your own refreshments if you intend to spend the whole day there.
Insider tip: The current can get quite strong and there is a quick drop near the shore so inexperienced swimmers should take note to not get out too far. This is especially important as there are no lifeguards around.
Ilig-Iligan Beach
To go off the well-beaten tourist path, Ilig-Iligan Beach is rather remote and undeveloped but it certainly has its charms. It’s unpolluted, with very fine white sand, and has bat caves just off the shore to explore. For those yearning to be truly one with nature, this is the spot to go.
Bulabog Beach
What better way to be free in the wilderness, than fly? Bulgabog Beach is not a typical tourist spot as the waters are not suitable for swimming due to sea urchins, yet it draws a huge number of kite surfers during the November to April season. The beach is also known to hold the annual Boracay International Funboard Cup where competitors from all over the world come to be gone with the wind.
Tambisaan Beach
A local haunt, Tambisaan Beach has huts, eateries, and fishing boats docked in its waters. It is particularly noteworthy for its snorkeling and scuba diving during high tide season as you can get to Crocodile and Crystal Cove Island conveniently.
