(Online) SSO Christmas Concert - A Shining Star on the Highest Place
This festive period, the Singapore Symphony Choruses (SSO) is bringing its annual concert virtual! Featuring Baroque classics to contemporary Christmas carols, join the SSO in their Christmas musical celebration.
The program outline is set to include famous works such as Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons, Arr. Rutter’s We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves, and many more! Specially directed by Eric Wong, director of ‘Count on Me, Singapore’, don’t miss out the chance to catch this wonderfully planned performance!
Sales of tickets commence on 14 Oct 2020 and end on 8 Jan 2021. Fees will be based on a pay-as-you-wish basis in amounts of $10/$20/$30/$50.
Jazz at Play: 7 Songs at Christmas
If you are into Jazz music, this concert will be right up your alley! This December, Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) will be holding three nights of jazz concerts (17 Dec - 19 Dec 2020) at the Victoria Theatre. Here are a few local artists who will be there (varies each day):
Alemay Fernandez - one of Singapore’s ‘most loved performers’ and also a rising star on the Asian Jazz scene.
The Steve McQueens - a band who has played regular gigs at several local venues such as Marina Bay Sands and BluJaz Cafe, as well as other countries including Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Australia.
Regi Leo - a prominent guitarist in Singapore who has a style incorporating jazz, blue, pop and rock. He has even played alongside artists such as Jam Hsiao and JJ Lin.
Rani Singam - being in the music industry for almost 20 years, she is one of the leading contemporary vocalists in SIngapore.
There will be Christmas tunes, jazz classics and original compositions performed! Audience can even request for a song to be dedicated to your loved ones on the spot.
(Online) Christmas Carolling Performances by Christmas Wonderland - Gardens by the Bay
Disappointed there will be no Christmas carols in Orchard or Botanical Gardens this year? Tune in to Christmas Wonderland’s Tinsel Theatre to catch the wonderful voices of the carollers! There will be performances by MICappella - a local a cappella group as well as the Raffles Singers Choir.
TLC Classic Christmas Stories
Organised by Singapore Repertory Theatre, TLC will be putting up a Christmas edition classics storytelling show this year! It will be held live from 15 Dec to 20 Dec 2020, with limited seats.
Extremely suitable for kids, parents can bring their little ones to enjoy stories encapsulating lessons of kindness, generosity and the joy of Christmas!
Tickets range from $28-33 and the show runs for approximately 45 minutes.
