On Dec 11, Disney announced that the streaming service, Disney+, will be available in Singapore from Feb 23, 2021. FINALLY. I can curl up with my Baby Yoda plush toy and binge all episodes of The Mandalorian.

With a Disney+ subscription, you will be able to access content all over their platforms: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star (yes, the popular Asian entertainment platform). You can pay either S$11.98 a month or S$119.98 a year. These subscriptions will enable you to stream over 500 films and 15,000 episodes of content, on up to 4 screens at once.

Along with Disney+ Originals such as WandaVision, The Mandalorian, Percy Jackson, and Disney’s Lady and the Tramp, you can find more general content such as How I Met Your Mother, Family Guy, Deadpool, and 9-1-1, just to name a few. Keep up to date with the latest news on their website here. Excited yet? So am I. Without further ado, here’s a list of some of my most anticipated shows and movies that will be available to stream on Disney+ in 2 months’ time.

WandaVision

WandaVision is the first series that kickstarts Phase Four of the MCU, and that is why I am SO excited for this show. It is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, where superheroes Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Vision, played by Paul Bettany, live idealistic suburban lives in the town of Westview, attempting to conceal their powers among the townspeople. However, they begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems as they enter new decades and encounter television tropes. So far, it looks mind-bending and stunning, and I’m sure February can’t come fast enough for me to binge the show.

The Mandalorian

You probably have heard of this show thanks to Baby Yoda. Or maybe because you’re a huge fan of Star Wars and The Mandalorian is the first live-action Star Wars television series. The plot begins after the events of Return of the Jedi and features a lone bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal) who is tasked to retrieve “The Child”, otherwise known as Baby Yoda, and return him to his kind. Honestly, if an adorable character like Baby Yoda doesn’t entice you to watch this show, I don’t know what will.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Any High School Musical fans reading this and feeling nostalgic? So am I. Set in the OG high school where the original High School Musical movies were filmed, this new series introduces the members of the drama club as they stage a performance of High School Musical: The Musical, for the first theatre production to celebrate their affiliation with the original films. It follows a group of students as they navigate their way through high school, romance, and rivalries. It’s a feel-good show that cannot be missed, and you will definitely feel a sense of nostalgia as you binge this series!

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

As an avid Marvel and Captain America fan, this is arguably the show I am most excited for. If you remember the events in Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers handed the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson, also known as the Falcon, and is played by Anthony Mackie. Along with Bucky Barnes who is played by Sebastian Stan, both heroes have to team up to fight the anarchist group, the Flag-Smashers. From the looks of the trailer, it does look action-packed and I am ecstatic to follow these two on their worldwide adventure as they fight bad guys and save the world.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be released on Disney+ in March 21, 2021.

Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions

Taylor Swift debuted her surprise concert film, Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions features the singer perform all 17 tracks of her second latest album, Folklore. In this film where Swift also self-directed, she talks about the development of the songs with her two key collaborators, Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The best way to watch this introspective film is with a good snack and a glass of wine. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Loki

I’m pretty sure Loki is everyone’s favorite trickster god, ever since he appeared in the first Thor movie all the way back in 2011. Starring Tom Hiddleston, this series follows the God of Mischief as he is brought to a mysterious organization called the Time Variance Authority after he escapes with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame, and alters history by traveling through time and getting trapped in his own crime thriller.

Loki will be released on Disney+ in May 2021.
