Want a break from traditional Singaporean food but crave a healthy option? Haakon is perfect for a light, nutritious, and tasty meal. This superfoods and juice cafe serves up açai bowls, salads, and grain bowls, among other tasty things. It brings guests the best of Scandinavian living and nourishing superfoods. From a carefully curated menu to its “Make your Own” grain bowls and acai bowls, your sweet and savory cravings are sure to be satisfied.

With several locations situated in the bustling yet convenient neighborhoods of Orchard, Holland Village, and One Raffles Place, Haakon brings delicious options for everyone with all natural ingredients. Its mission is to help everyone feel empowered, strong, and properly nourished. Its menu is designed to be inclusive for all diets, with a great selection of gluten-free and vegan options. Craving high protein or low carb options? Haakon has got it covered.
Another highlight on Haakon’s menu is its variety of bowl creations. Ranging from poke bowls with fresh fish to hearty grain bowls, and from crisp salad bowls and even açai bowls, there are endless options to choose from. But it doesn’t end there! If none of Haakon’s curated bowls suit your taste buds, you can even make your own bowl. With six bases, a plethora of different dressings, mains, and sides to choose from, you can be sure to craft the perfect bowl of your dreams even for the pickiest eater.

I walked into HAAKON seeking something warm and hearty, but also felt a little adventurous, so I decided to make my own bowl using its convenient tick-to-order paper menu. After choosing whether I was dining in or taking away and the size of my bowl, I proceeded to pick my base, dressing, mains and sides. After handing the paper to the cashier counter, my “Make your Own” bowl was ready within 10 minutes. Pictured below is my go-to at HAAKON, a “Make your Own” bowl consisting of a brown rice base, ginger ponzu dressing, avocado, warm charred corn, steamed broccoli, topped with mango and tomato salsa.

In addition to HAAKON’s bowls, its smooth and creamy yet nutritionally dense acai bowl and green juice are also fan favorites, making a perfect afternoon snack when one is craving something sweet but doesn't want to go for sugary desserts. The acai bowl is loaded with toppings such as bananas, kiwi, granola and coconut flakes. The cold-pressed green juice contains spinach, celery, cucumber and apple, perfectly tangy and not too sweet—you can tell by the first sip that it is freshly pressed.

HAAKON’s wide variety of plant-based options, its focus on high-quality health foods, as well as its ability to cater to such a wide population with different needs is more than enough reason to keep me coming back when I am craving something healthy on-the-go.
