At one point of our lives, we definitely have thought (or will think) of hosting a virtual game night — whether it is because of a pandemic separating us, or having friends and family living all around the world. Many of us use some form of video call to stay close to our loved ones during this time.

Especially with the pandemic, many of us have forgone in-person gatherings, and instead having more virtual gatherings. On your next online gathering, instead of just talking, why not move beyond this and play some games together virtually? Whether you want some ideas on what to play during your next virtual gathering, or you are tired of just playing Among Us and in need of new games to play with your loved ones, we have compiled a list of fun virtual multiplayer games to enjoy during your next online call!

This game is an adaptation of the physical board game “The Resistance: Avalon”, where you will need to use logic and deduction to sift out spies who have infiltrated in and are sabotaging the team. Catch the spies and to have a successful mission.  When playing this game, keep your poker face on so your other’s won’t know if you are the saboteur!

Jackbox Games contains many different types of games from drawing games to trivia games — there is one for everyone. These games use players' phones as facilitators to the games itself. Depending on what game you choose, players will have to use their phones to respond to answers. Based on the game, your phone’s screen will change to tell you to do multiple things, such as drawing something or telling you to say a lie. Do note that to play Jackbox Games, at least one player will need to have bought the game.

Get your brain juices flowing with Outburst, where players will have a set time limit to write down as many things they can think of in a certain category. The more that you have on your list, the more points you will get! Categories can be broad or specific, depending on what the game master chooses. This game is fun for all ages — and may be even so for children.

Codenames

This game is originally a board game where players attempt to communicate with allies only by using clues while finding out the spy in the team. To play this game, guess words that are associated with the given word to find your allies and sift out the spy.

With a variety of different video chat options available, there are so many opportunities to stay connected with our loved ones during these times. Make use of these video chats and have a go at some of these fun games.
