New month, new cafes! From cool cafe concepts, to mouth-watering vegan food items and satisfying ice cream parlours. Here are the top eight new cafes you simply must visit this February!
Cult Sliders
Cult Sliders was once formerly known as 21 Sliders and started their first entrepreneurship in pasar malams. I remember waiting in line impatiently just waiting for my order to be ready. The staff members in the small humble stall are always so friendly and despite the (literally) heated wait, getting my fresh, piping hot sliders is always worth it. So, imagine my excitement when I heard that they finally have a permanent shop along Boat Quay. Their prices remain the same for their sliders, starting from $5 and they even extended their menu by including sides and other mains. In fact, you can check out their menu here!

MILK Singapore
Perfect for those on the go! MILK Singapore is your ultimate pitstop to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings. This humble cafe specialises in local flavour favourites in their bubble teas and stroopwafels. In case you’re unfamiliar with the latter, this waffle is akin to the regular soft, fluffy waffles that we’re familiar with only that it’s thinner and crispier. Their stroopwafels come in four different flavours and are priced at $4 each! On the other hand, their Ice Kacang Tea consists of red bean and grass jellies that helps to enhance the authenticity of the original dessert making is one of their best-sellers.

Tipsy Bunny
Located right by the entrance of JEM, Tipsy Bunny makes it impossible for anyone to miss — from their adorable logo to their neon lined entrance that seemingly transports you to another place, this restaurant just screams hip. From the name itself, the place sells alcoholic beverages but what makes it interesting is that their shots are served on a ferris wheel! It has definitely garnered some attention and persuaded people into getting it. However, food wise, the menu specialises in your usual western dishes such as pastas, pizzas and steaks. A handful of their menu contains some local fusion food items such as Char Siew Pizza and Szechuan Mala Karaage.

The concept of this restaurant essentially comprises various cuisines from different restaurants so that customers get the opportunity to mix and match their dishes. Downstairs
A blast to the past: Downstairs runs on the concept of old school Singapore void decks with the colourful checkered (dining) tables and ordering screens attached to traditional phone booths. As for the food, the cafe serves classic Singaporean favourites from kaya toasts to nasi lemak. The portions are generous too, on top of their low prices! The best thing about the cafe is that the food is simply so hearty and satisfying! A bite of their food will simply remind you of the good ol’ days when as kids we would tabao our foods from different stores and eat them all together underneath an empty void deck.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 9pm and Saturday to Sunday from 9am to 9pm
82 Own
I envy my friends who are from SMU because they’re just so awfully close to this adorable Korean-centric cafe! I always see them taking photos of their straight-out-of-the-poster Korean Hotdogs that look very insatiable but what people are often raving about is their Macaroon Bingsus! Their macarons are broken up into smaller bits but customers would be able to enjoy various flavours of the macaroons such as coffee, berry and lemon so you’ll definitely get a new taste every time you take a bite.
Address: 2 Handy Rd, #01-01/02 The Cathay, Singapore 229233
