Foodies, rejoice.

It was announced on June 18 that Singapore’s restaurants and bars would be allowed to reopen Monday (June 21), with maximum group sizes of up to two people.

As we ponder over which of our favourite food and drink establishments to step foot inside first, we’ve curated a list of swoonworthy new restaurants to help you decide where to start-up your dining-out streak again.

From Spanish tapas to premium sushi to veggie-forward haute cuisine, here are some new eateries in Singapore’s vibrant F&B scene to reserve a table at.

This famous Barcelonian import by Michelin-starred chef Carles Abellán brings all your Spanish tapas dreams to Singapore’s Robertson Quay neighbourhood. Guests will feel like they’ve transported to Spain when they step into this dining space accented with brightly coloured décor and casual seating — a nod to Barcelona’s buzzy but laidback culture.

Its extensive menu will please even the most discerning palates, which includes favourites such as “Tapas 24” bikini sandwich (with black truffles, Iberico ham, and buffalo mozzarella), crispy calamari, classic paella, fresh clams in sherry wine, and more. Its drink selection is just as enticing, featuring everything from sangria to Spanish street cocktails to an array of wines.

Address: 60 Robertson Quay, #01-04, Singapore 238252

This modern Japanese restaurant and bar is tucked away in Tanjong Pagar — a gastronomic enclave where you never have to walk more than a few steps for delicious food and drink.

Though IKO has only been open for around two months, the collective online reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Guests consistently rave about its trendy vibes (neon lighting never gets old) and outstanding fusion fare.

Must-try items include its signature uni (made with purple cauliflower pudding, dashi pudding, and caviar), cold somen (Japanese noodles) with seafood, angus short ribs, Japanese black cod, and uni pasta, to name a few. Japanese-inspired cocktails, sake, and whisky are also served here, which complement IKO’s contemporary Japanese creations.

Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday from 11:30am–2:30pm and 6pm–10:30pm

While there’s no shortage of fine-dining spots in Singapore, most can agree new additions are always welcomed with open arms and appetites. The latest newcomer is Sommer, a modern European restaurant led by chef Lewis Barker, who has held positions at various Michelin-starred eateries.

Located in the heart of Marina Bay, the elegant 28-seat space features plenty of natural elements and neutral hues. Diners will be treated to perfectly executed, seasonal dishes such as beef wellington, Shizuoka amela tomato and lobster, Hokkaido king crab, and more. A summer menu recently launched in time for the reopening of dine-in services, and reservations are quickly filling up.

Enjoying fresh Japanese food is probably the closest we can get (for the time being) to feeling like we’re abroad in Japan.

Popular sushi chain sen-ryo opened a new branch at ION Orchard this spring, and its refined conveyer-belt offerings have proved to be very attractive in Singapore. The dining space features an expansive sake bar, sushi counter, and minimalist seating.

Indulge in everything from Edomae-style sushi, supreme sashimi platters, and an assortment of premium bento boxes, among other tasty items.

Another fine-dining destination that should be on any food-lovers’ radar is Euphoria — chef Jason Tan’s brainchild serving up veggie-forward haute cuisine, or “gastro-botanica” cuisine. The interior design here is lush and airy, featuring indoor greenery and earthy tones throughout, which is a good representation of the restaurant’s food and flavours.

Botanical ingredients are key components in Tan’s intricate culinary creations, along with premium meats and seafood. Its multicourse lunch and dinner menus feature dishes that are inventive and artistic, such as the signature oignon jamboree with Oscietra prestige caviar.

Address: 76 Tras Street, Singapore 079015

Opening Hours: Tuesday from 6:30–11pm, and Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm–2:30pm and 6:30–11pm

Mirazur Pop-Up at Mandala Club

Seats are highly coveted when it comes to dining at the World’s #1 Restaurant, and even more so when it’s a limited-run pop-up restaurant. France’s three Michelin-starred Mirazur in Merton, France, is famed for its use of fresh, seasonal ingredients — as well as a culinary philosophy of being inspired by its local terroir. Mirazur has taken up a Singapore residency at the Mandala Club, which has been extended until 4 September.

We’ve been informed additional seats have been added to the once sold-out event, and eager gourmands can choose to experience one of four different multicourse menus: Leaves, Flowers, Roots, and Fruits. Each menu is designed to spotlight ingredients at their prime according to the moon’s positions and movements. Expect a fully immersive experience at this pop-up, including the transformation of the dining space to complement the story-telling of this lunar-menu concept.

Address: 31 Bukit Pasoh Road, Singapore 089845

Opening Hours: Various lunch and dinner timeslots
