Ever saw the movies Murder on the Orient Express, Dracula or From Russia with Love? Then you might remember the notable railway service in those films!
Rejoice because the Orient Express has chosen to come to Singapore to showcase its exhibition! Located at the West Lawn of Gardens by The Bay, this attraction will be available from 12 December 2020 to 13 June 2021. ‘Once Upon a Time on the Orient Express’ will bring visitors on an exploration of the train’s centuries-old history, through 300 ancient objects and protected documents.
History of the Orient Express
Dating back to 1883, the railway service started its operations from Paris. At a time when travelling was extremely expensive, the Orient Express was considered a form of luxury. Destinations it covered included Vienna, Munich and Istanbul. Though its operations halted on 14 December 2009, its rich history was richly chronicled in movies, books and music.
The Exhibition
According to Lydie Blandeau, two original 1930 train carriages which were classified as National Treasures of France, as well as a 158 year old locomotive were dispatched en route to Singapore from Paris.
Relax and capture pictures with your friends or family!

There will be uniforms, posters, crockery, a sleeping car, priceless porcelain and even the original Louis Vuitton luggage used back in the days being showcased. Photos, news videos and movie extracts will also be featured to give customers a cinematographic experience.
