There’s an endless number of places to get a good drink in Perth, whether it’s a bar, a pub, a restaurant or something else entirely. In fact, the selection seems so diverse that they seem to defy categorisation, but this list aims to highlight some of the other features of each venue so you can have more than just a drink to round off your day.
For good vibes
Sometimes you want more than just a drink, and these bars do not disappoint.
The Flour Factory

The Flour Factory is one of the best restaurants and cocktail bars in Perth’s CBD, housed in a beautiful 100-year old flour mill. The interior is a good blend of old and new, brick and glass, and that’s not all. And if you’re on the hunt for a new favourite drink, spin their gin wheel for a cool new cocktail made just for you.
Address: 16 Queen St, Perth WA 6000, Australia
Opening hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 10pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 12am
Rodney's Bait and Tackle

Walking into Rodney’s Bait and Tackle is a bit of a trip, partly because of the huge boat that sits right in the middle of the bar. The whole space makes you feel a little bit like you’re on the high seas, with the polished wood and various ceiling fixtures, but rest assured, you’re still on dry land, enjoying a draught from their beers on tap, which are ever-changing but always good, as well as the live band. The tunes are fun and funky, and you’ll probably find yourself on the dance floor sooner or later.
Address: 598 Stirling Hwy, Mosman Park WA 6012, Australia
Opening hours: Daily except Mondays from 4pm onwards
The Standard

And if you’re looking for something prettier and more intimate, make your way to The Standard. This rooftop bar has both indoor and outdoor spaces, each equally lovely all on their own, so you’ll enjoy it whether it rains or shines. This is the place to go any night of the week - Hawker Mondays kick off your week with a delicious new dish and drink, Lazy Sundays end the week with an ever-changing spread, and in between you can make your way through their extensive food menu, and the even longer drinks menu.
Address: 28 Roe St, Northbridge WA 6003, Australia
Opening hours: Wednesdays to Fridays from 4pm to 12am and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm onwards
For fans of mystery
The Prohibition Era may have been on the other side of the globe and a hundred years in the past, but speakeasies and hidden bars are very much alive and kicking.
The Jazz Cellar
The Jazz Cellar sounds just like what the name implies, a cosy underground space where the band plays awesome jazz all night long. To get into this venue, you’ll need to find the red phone booth that serves as its entrance and then climb down a short flight of stairs, which feels like climbing down into another world. You’ll need to bring your own food and drinks since they’re not licensed, but the atmosphere of jazz and intrigue are all worth it.
Address: 139 Buxton St, Mount Hawthorn WA 6016, Australia
Opening hours: Every Fridays from 5:30pm to 10:30am
Sneaky Tony's

Sneaky Tony’s is another great speakeasy, but only if you can find it, and only if you have the password. That last one is easy to find on their Facebook page, but for the first, the only clue is that it’s somewhere in the Chinatown, Northbridge area. If you do manage to find your way though, celebrate your find with a dram of rum, over 300 bottles from all four corners of the globe.
Address: 38 Roe St, Northbridge WA 6003, Australia
Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays from 5pm to 11:45pm and Friday to Saturday from 5pm to 12am
For good food
Nothing pairs better with a good drink than equally good food, and in Perth, you don’t have to look far to get both.
Alfred's Pizzeria

Alfred’s Pizzeria and Small Bar is down the stairs, serving up an impressively long menu of beers (mostly local), gins, scotch whisky, whiskey and more. Their pizza menu might not run quite so long, but they make up for it with their amazing flavour and variety, as well as their cheeky names. You can order them by the slice, or have a whole pizza pie, and enjoy it all night long while the moon shines high in the sky and the band plays rock ‘n’ roll hits.
Address: 37 Barrack St, Perth WA 6000, Australia
Opening hours: Daily from 3pm to 12am
Billie H. Bistro and Bar

Named after Billie Holiday, Billie H. is a beautiful restaurant covered in green foliage and full of jazzy charm. The food here consists of signature dishes and entrées that change with the seasons, but which always pair well with their wines, which are specially chosen to complement the food. And all this is set against the backdrop of jazz classics, played from a retro turntable.
Address: 34 St Quentin Ave, Claremont WA 6010, Australia
Opening hours: Daily except Mondays and Sundays from 12pm onwards
For the connoisseurs
Little Creatures Brewing

And if you like knowing where and how your drink is being made, look no further than the Little Creatures Brewery. Based in a huge shed (and former crocodile farm) on the water’s edge in Fremantle, this brewery has been producing fantastic brews like their distinctive Pale Ale and Rogers’ Beer since 2000.
With a keen focus and never-ending passion, the team behind Little Creatures doubled their brewery floor as the Great Hall, so you can see how they take the best hops from as nearby as their backyard and as far away as the USA, and turn it into that fantastic drink you have in hand. Whether it’s a crowd favourite from their year-round range, an old hit brought out seasonally, or even their refreshing apple cider, a drink from Little Creatures will keep you hoping for more.
Address: 40 Mews Rd, Fremantle WA 6160, Australia
Opening hours: Daily from 11am to 11pm
