With working from home set to be our new normal for the foreseeable future, many of us are understandably sick and tired of the boring 4 walls of our home. For those of you with cabin fever who are itching to get out of the house for the work day, here are some alternative working spaces that offer a refreshing change of scenery to get you back to your productive best.
Furama Riverfront Hotel

WFH = Work from hotel right? Furama Riverfront’s Waterfall Lounge has been drawing a steady stream of home office escapees since launching its work from hotel passes – and for good reason. Apart from free flow beverages, guests are also granted dining credits and meeting room access, all the makings of a conducive work environment. Not to mention, the Waterfall Lounge also make for a pretty fabulous Zoom backdrop (well, better than whatever background we have at home).
While the hotel has since increased prices for a day pass to $28, Furama’s work from hotel deal is still among the most reasonable you’ll find. The hotel has also implemented a new reservation system to better facilitate safety measures and provide visibility of seats available for an extra $5 – no more having to worry about arriving early enough to secure your seat for the day!

Changi Airport Jewel Lounge

Vacation blues hitting you? While heading to Jewel Changi Airport for work is hardly the same as going on vacation, it still makes for a refreshing change of scenery. The pay-per-use lounge which seats 50, formerly for transit passengers and those on fly-cruise itineraries, reopened as a co-working space in August.
With a variety of seats to choose from – from standard desks to plush sofas and armchairs, as well as high speed internet and plenty of power points, it is no wonder that the lounge has proved popular as an alternative work space. Just be sure to bring a jacket though as it can get pretty chilly, especially if you plan on staying for several hours. Starting at $15 for 2 hours, with extensions at $6 per hour, guests will also be able to enjoy a complimentary drink and snack, as well as 4-hour free parking.
