Exploring the outdoors has never been easier with Singapore’s park connectors. As part of Singapore’s “Green City” initiative to reduce our carbon footprint, more park connectors have sprung up in recent years to encourage a greener commute.

Discover a whole new side of Singapore with stunning views and lesser-known sights. Here are some of Singapore’s best park connectors to check out for your next night-cycling session or leisurely stroll.

Enjoy scenic views as you cycle, walk, and/or jog alongside the picturesque Central Catchment Nature Reserve. The five kilometre-long Mandai Connector also joins one of Singapore’s five gazetted Heritage Roads: Mandai Road, which begins opposite Upper Seletar Reservoir Park Carpark and ends at the junction of Mandai Avenue. With an unparalleled view of the sunset over this large nature reserve, it’s the perfect way to unwind after a long day.

Built along a section of Punggol Waterway, this park is one of Singapore’s newer park connectors with activities for the whole family to enjoy. Cycle down the tree-lined path, or rent a pair of inline skates for the afternoon. Featuring an all-new sensory garden designed specially to engage visitors, you can learn more about edible gardening and relax amidst the tranquil atmosphere.

With features such as raised planter boxes, which allow wheelchair users to enjoy plant maintenance, or simply to see and touch familiar plants such as pandan to excite the senses, there’s something for everyone. Punggol Waterway Park is also a prime spot for birdwatching, and visitors can spot species such as the Black-naped Oriole and White-throated Kingfisher.

The newest attraction from Changi Airport allows you to cycle, walk, and/or jog from East Coast Park to Singapore’s world-class aviation hub. With amenities such as pay-per-use showers and bike rentals, it’s a great spot to end your park-connector journey. Don’t feel like going home after a long ride? You can end the day off with a relaxing trip to Jewel, Singapore’s award-winning airport mall with a stunning built-in waterfall, restaurants, and shops.

Another interesting sight along the park connector is Jurassic Mile, a dinosaur-themed stretch along the park connector that will surely excite the little ones (and the kids at heart). With life-size replicas of crowd favourites such as the T-Rex and dedicated photo spots, you may find yourself spending more than a few minutes here.

Stretching from Tanglin Park to Zion Road, the Alexandra Park Connector passes by various luxury condominiums, giving users stunning views of the surrounding high-rise buildings. The park connector runs alongside the Alexandra Canal, where you can observe aquatic life such as terrapins and seabirds. A section of the park has a boardwalk feature where you can get closer to the marshland and enjoy the scenery.

Treat yourself to a nice meal and a refreshing drink at Great World City Shopping Centre or Zion Riverside Food Centre at the end of the park connector, both of which offer plenty of dining options.

If you’re looking for a unique park connector experience, there’s no better place to start than the Ang Mo Kio Park Connector. Venture into the Ang Mo Kio heartlands and follow the winding paths through neighbourhood playgrounds and discover a new side to Ang Mo Kio.

Stop over at the Bishan–Ang Mo Kio Park along your journey, which offers recreational facilities for children and adults alike with butterfly habitats and nature play gardens.

Finally, end your trip at Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West, which is situated opposite the Ang Mo Kio Public Library and is within walking distance of Djitsun Mall. Step into the mall’s specialty AMU MART-E, a Korean-themed convenience store selling various Korean products such as tteobokki (rice cakes) and to-go meals. The convenience store is also connected to a cafe, where you can grab an iced frappe to cool off.
