One of the longest standing Iceland coffee roasters is Reykjavik Roasters, with three outlets located around this little town. The café’s coffee beans change from time to time, as different beans are harvested at different times of the year due to their respective climates. Enjoy a cup of perfectly calibrated and freshly roasted coffee with beans from countries such as Brazil, Ethiopia and Kenya.

One of the best breakfast spots in town, Sandholt is situated along the famous Laugavegur shopping street. Have a hearty breakfast here before embarking on a shopping spree! Known for its generous portions at an affordable price, Sandholt offers a range of breakfast, pastries, desserts and great coffee for all. Order a portion of Avocado Toast with Fried Eggs while you are here!

Whenever you make a stop at this humble bakery, you must buy at least two of their freshly baked cinnamon buns. Consume one immediately and leave the other for your cravings later on when you begin missing its crusty-sugary coat and soft bread. Located a couple of blocks away from Reykjavik Roasters, grab a cuppa from the roasters and have it together with the baked goods here.

This quaint French-inspired café in Reykjavik specialises in freshly baked cookies and offers simple brunch menu items like bagels, pancakes and salad bowls. The bagels, muffins and scones are a hit with the people. Come here for brunch or take away an amazing selection of baked goods for the next day’s breakfast.

Grái Kötturinn

Themed to the 50s, Grái Kötturinn serves up a mean American style breakfast with their must-try fluffy pancakes and “The Trucker” consisting of pancakes, eggs, bacon and potatoes.
