Hanoi is a vibrant city with plenty to offer by way of nightlife. Here are some of our top nightlife picks if you really want to experience this bustling city at night!
Beer Street (Ta Hien Street)
Located in the Old Quarter, you’ll find plenty of local beer, beer on tap and even craft beer for your choosing. From loud bars that make you rave to chill places you can simply lounge in, there are tons of places here that’ll suit your fancy. If you don’t like a bar, or there’s no space, just hop on to the next bar! Vietnamese beer is known for being sweet and light, and you can easily have three glasses without feeling that tipsy. You’ll get to experience drinking here the most authentic way possible, with small stools, wooden tables and cheap drinks. Drink to your heart’s content with other travellers!
Hanoi Weekend Night Market
From 7pm every Friday to Sunday, the Hanoi Weekend Night Market goes into full swing. It starts from Hang Dao Street and runs through to Dong Xuan Market - where you can also do some night shopping. The atmosphere is super vibrant and lively as rows of souvenir and food stalls line up to greet you. While you’ll find that the souvenir shops get kind of repetitive after a while, the food stalls will surely make your mouth water with their iconic Hanoian dishes. From La Vong grilled fish to pho and bun cha, you’re all covered even if you come here on an empty stomach! Apart from food and souvenirs, there are also street performers eager to put on some cultural shows or just sing some local tunes.
Hero Club Hanoi
Where are you party people at? Hero is one of Hanoi’s most popular nightclubs among both locals and foreigners alike. Located in the West Lake area, there is no cover charge to enter this industrial-style club, but drinks here are pricier than what you’ll find in Beer Street. It’s a good place to get to later in the night, however, as nightlife in the Old Quarter dies down after midnight. Hero’s regular Ladies Night promises discounts on drinks and helium-filled balloons (that’s right!) for the ladies, so that’s some fun you don’t wanna miss out on. Apart from that, the club is also known for its table service and hookah pipes. There’s truly more than one way to enjoy your night here!

This burlesque-themed club is housed in a former colonial-era theatre. Entrance is about VND 100,000, though like most other clubs the cover charge is inclusive of a free drink. Over the years the club has no doubt grown in popularity, drawing a crowd of at least 800 almost every night. Many travellers praise its ambience and enthusiastic staff, with the music being equally great for you to dance to as the club plays a lot of EDM. If you’re looking for a quality time, this is it.

Sit back, relax and enjoy 2.5 hours of soothing jazz music while sipping on your handcrafted cocktails. These come at a steeper price tag, but it’s worth it for the high quality performances you can enjoy here (and the free entry!). The resident band, Red River Jazz Band, has performed at various international events in countries like Singapore, USA, Germany, France and Netherlands.
