I know for a fact that many of us miss travelling to Thailand due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions, but fret not, as we are able to enjoy authentic Thai food right here in sunny Singapore.
We scoured the entire island, finding a fantastic array of Thai food establishments all around the island and adding them to this list. Whether you’re looking for high-end Thai restaurants or affordable Thai street food, you will find a place on this list that tickles your fancy. Are you ready? Let the hunt for the best Thai food in Singapore begin!
Kra Pow
One of the top places in Singapore for authentic Thai street fare, Kra Pow is hidden in Far East Plaza and you might miss it if you don’t walk further in. Be sure to order their spicy and flavourful Tom Yum Seafood ($7.90), particularly the red broth one. You will find yourself licking the bowl after you’re done! The same goes for the Krapow XL ($14.90), which is basil chicken with egg on rice. Finish off your meal with a refreshing cup of Thai Milk Tea ($3.90) and thank me later.

Khao Hom by Rung Mama
Khao Hom by Rung Mama is Rung Mama’s second venture. You might know their first famous venture: Dee Tongue Thai in Golden Mile Complex. They have been serving authentic Thai home-cooked food ever since the 1980s. Some of their signatures include Thai salads, curries, and soup. A fun fact: their “Rung Mama” is a Thai lady with 30 to 40 years of experience in cooking Thai food!

You don’t need to travel to Bangkok to satisfy your Thai street food cravings! Pratunam PLUS by Soi Thai Soi Nice will do just the trick, serving up crazy delicious and super affordable Thai street food. If you’re a fan of hotpot, they do have specials like Pratunam Thai Hot Pot ($28.80) and Royal Thai Seafood Hot Pot ($38.80). The hot pot dishes are great for sharing, and value for money! Personally, my recommendation is the signature Tom Yum Mama ($10), which is packed with flavours.

The Tom Yum Soup is highly recommended, simmering with a mixture of refreshing spices like fresh lime, lemongrass, and chili, just to name a few. If you’re looking for a simple, satisfying meal, Jai Thai is the best option for you.

Well-loved for their piping hot Original Braised Chicken Noodle ($6.50), Premjai 99 Thai Heritage also serves up some solid Steamed Seabass in Spicy Lime Sauce ($32.50), a classic Thai dish that bursts with tanginess and flavour, leaving your tastebuds satisfied and tantalised.

Royal Thai Cuisine
Royal Thai Cuisine’s story began in 2006 when they set up a small food stall along Bugis Street. Today, they have grown and opened multiple outlets, one in Fairways Drive, and others in King Albert Park mall and Science Park One. Even though Royal Thai Cuisine may be a little more pricey, they do not compromise on the quality of the food they serve. Be sure to order their signature Phad Thai Noodles with Prawns ($19), or Green Curry Chicken ($17).
