I get it. A midday snack is something that most of us need, me included. Sometimes, reaching for that bag of chips, a chocolate bar, or even a cup of bubble tea is so VERY tempting. But what if I told you that there was a healthier snacking alternative that is just as satisfying? Yes, you heard that right.

More than just your regular fruit smoothie bowl, acai (pronounced “ah-sigh-ee”) bowls are packed with superfoods and antioxidants that make this healthy midday snack a go-to for health freaks like me. Trust me, you’ll feel less sinful afterward. There’s a reason why you’re seeing so many pictures of it on the ‘gram, too. Not only are they healthy, but they’re also delicious and they combat the Singapore heat very well. There really isn’t a downside to enjoying a hearty bowl of acai.

Motivated to get a bowl for yourself now? Great! In the list below, you’ll find my absolute favorite go-to places for my acai bowl fix. Happy reading (and snacking)!

Project Acai

First up on this list is Project Acai, which is ironically where I tried my first acai bowl, and never looked back since. They are also Singapore’s first dedicated acai cafe. With outlets scattered across the island, you’re bound to find one near you. These acai bowls are the epitome of fresh, nutritious, and tasty. Topped with fresh fruits and superfood toppings, this bowl of wholesome goodness is bound to make your mouth water. What’s even better is that you don’t have to worry about unnecessary calories!

If you’re more of a smoothie person, fret not. Their smoothies are just as delightful. But if you’re an acai bowl person like me, I recommend ordering the Original Flower Bowl. You may find their menu on their website here.

HAAKON Superfoods

Whenever I pay a visit to their restaurants, I feel like I’m leading a healthy lifestyle. No joke, HAAKON serves up healthy Scandinavian superfoods, juice, organic acai bowls. Not to mention that they are also widely known to offer Singapore’s best salads and high protein grain bowls. However, my favorite item on their menu is the Classic Acai Bowl. The acai base is yummy, and the bowl is filled with seasonal fruits, granola, chia seed parfait, blueberries, and coconut flakes. What a blissful combination.

Chocolate lovers, rejoice! Their Cacao Bliss Acai Bowl is not to be missed too, and the taste is reminiscent of a refreshing cup of chocolate ice cream. Except this bowl is totally guilt-free! Be sure to check out their website for the menu’s nutritional information, and where all the branches are located at.

An Acai Affair

Since An Acai Affair has the outlet that is closest to where I live, I find myself patronizing them a lot. They also happen to serve some solid acai bowls. Not surprising, since they are renowned as Singapore’s largest acai specialty cafe, serving up organic acai without the addition of artificial sweeteners and concentrate. You can’t get more organic than that. If you’re a calorie counter like I am, you will be delighted to know that the acai bowls have some of the lowest calories and sugars, and your body will definitely thank you for it.

With outlets scattered across the island, you are bound to find one near you. Their outlet list can be located on their website, likewise with their full menu. Happy guilt-free eating!

The Good Boys

A hidden gem in Tai Seng, The Good Boys offers a wide range of super juices, bowls, and superfoods that includes a wholesome treat of acai berries and chia seeds. Not only that, they also offer delectable grain bowls that you are able to customize to your liking. I’d highly recommend their healthy fruit smoothie bowls, especially their Acai Bowl. I could taste the richness of the banana in their acai base, which was complemented nicely with the granola and seeds.

Also, check out that cute heart-shaped bowl and that portion! For S$12, it really is quite worth it. You can find their full menu on their website, and I guarantee you that you will be spoilt for choice!

If you work in the CBD, you probably would have heard of Randy Indulgence. Located in Tanjong Pagar Centre, working adults usually head there for their acai dessert fix after a meal. Even though their acai is more on the icy side compared to the usual creamy texture, the toppings make up for it. The toppings are generously served, ranging from strawberries to bananas to passionfruit to basil seed pudding and almond flakes, just to name a few.

End off your hearty lunch with the sweetest bang with Randy Indulgence today. Check out their full menu here.
