If you are looking for a change in environment, where you can churn out some deadlines, why not check out some of these Starbucks outlets. Many of them are extremely aesthetically pleasing, posing as an ideal spot for some instagrammable shots too! Aesthetics aside, a few of these outlets also embed a rich and interesting history. Read on to find out some unique Starbucks outlets in Singapore that have so much more to offer. 

Katong Square

Did you know the site of Katong Square Starbucks outlet was once home to the former Joo Chiat Police Station? It was also supposedly used to lock up triad gang members. One might not be able to tell the dreary history that the site holds, with its current revamped design. On the outside, it gives off a nostalgic and vintage vibe with its wooden windows.

This outlet's interior is filled with art that pays homage to the Peranakan heritage. Each individual artwork have been painted elaborately by local artist Danielle Tay. Her art draws inspiration from famous mural paintings, iconic to the Peranakan Heritage. 

Don't worry about not finding any seats here, as it is much more spacious than usual outlets. This two-storey outlet is furnished amply with tables to give you enough room to study or relax. Whether you are planning to get some work done or have a chit-chat with your friend, the Katong Square outlet is indeed an ideal option.

Jewel Changi Airport

This Starbucks outlet at Jewel Changi Airport is known to be the largest ever in the country. Being the nation’s flagship store, it features multiple cool attractions within the store, such as special food and drink concoctions.

There is also a Reserve Experience Bar and relaxing Art Room customers can check out here. Watch your fragrant cup of coffee be specially made by baristas right at the Reserve Experience Bar.  Firstly, choose from four different manual brewing methods: Chemax, Pour Over, Siphon Brew and Coffee Press. If you are unsure of what each method entails, don’t worry as you could ask the friendly baristas. Remember to keep your cameras on standby if you want to capture the whole process! This Reserve Experience Bar is uniquely shaped like a coffee bean, you can't miss it!

Jewel's Starbucks also sells Singaporean dishes — something not commonly seen in other outlets. With the cozy environment at this outlet, you will find yourself lulled into a state of relaxation. Coupled with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, it is an ideal spot for some alone time.

Rochester Park

Touted as the ‘most beautiful’ Starbucks outlet in Singapore, Rochester Park's Starbucks features a vintage colonial exterior with a contemporary edge. It is located away from the urban area, while some might call it ulu, this outlet is an ideal spot for someone looking for a quick respite from the city life. En route to the coffeehouse, you will get a quaint and countryside feel from all the lush greenery surrounding you. 

This Starbucks outlet is two-storeys, with more seating available on the second floor. On the first floor, there is a choice of outdoor and indoor seats. If you are looking for a little breeze on a day with good weather, outdoor seating is the perfect spot. For the second floor, there is also a non-air conditioned balcony where you can capture some Instagram-worthy shots with the picturesque greenery in the background.

This outlet is mainly designed with white-washed walls, giving it some rustic and European-style vibes that makes this outlet unique. For a change of environment to study or get some productive work done in the ‘outerskirts’ of Singapore, check out the Rochester Park Starbucks outlet.

Fullerton Waterboat House

One of the most popular Starbucks outlets is located at the Fullerton Waterboat House. This outlet is situated close to Fullerton Hotel and the Singapore River, giving customers a splendid view while enjoying their cup of coffee. The place is spacious and often packed, especially on occasions such as National Day or New Years Eve, where you could catch a great view of the fireworks in the comforts of your seats. 

To commemorate the opening of the 100th store, you will find an inlaid plaque at the long table located in the middle of the store. On one end, a plaque is placed to commemorate the opening of the first store — Liat Towers — and at the other end, one to celebrate the 100th store opening. Dotted on the other tables are plaques with dates of the other 98 Singapore stores’ openings.

There is even a unique wall art of six Samsui Women — an iconic figure in the olden days of our little red dot. Overall, this place has a nautical theme, with cool and yellow lights shining down but with not too much overkill. 

If you are searching for a Starbucks outlet where you get to see the amazing skyline of Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by The Bay and even The Merlion, Fullerton Waterboat House outlet is be a great lookout spot.

Liat Towers

Did you know Singapore was Starbucks’ second country they ventured into, apart from the United States? Down at Liat Towers, Singapore’s first Starbucks outlet opened in 1996. The old building was unfortunately renovated in 2019 and right now, the outlet’s interior is a lot more contemporary-looking than before. The new interiors have an overall golden brown theme giving it a classy and cozy vibe. 

Stepping into the store, the first thing that will catch your eye is the large art wall filled with over 100 cup-art designs from local baristas — each symbolising the strong relationships built with coffee lovers across the island.  

As an outlet that has a special spot in the hearts of Singaporeans, Liat Towers is definitely an interesting Starbucks outlet you can consider checking out.
