Yangon
Yangon - commonly translated as “End of Strife” - is the largest city in Myanmar. The city is home to one of the most sacred sites in Buddhism, Shwedagon Paya, which features an unfathomable amount of gold plating - estimated to be around 22,000 gold bars! Architecture is certainly one of the major highlights of Yangon as the city showcases a remarkable blend between Burmese and Victorian-era colonial buildings. Being the commercial and artistic hub of Myanmar, trendy restaurants and chic bars are not hard to find along the bustling streets of Downtown Yangon.
