A trip down to Tenjin

Scotts Road
Tenjin

There is ALWAYS a crowd at Tenjin but I was determined to brave the massive queue over the long weekend to finally give their food a try! I have to say these tendon bowls were certainly worth the wait.

All tendons are served with miso soup and a salad, with a choice of regular or spicy tare (sauce). I got the spicy tare with their 𝙅𝙀 π˜½π™€π™¬π™‘ ($𝟷𝟺.𝟾𝟢) and I absolutely loved how they didn't skimp on their sauce at all! It really carried a kick of intensely-flavourful heat and complemented so well with the tempura! Non-spicy eaters will definitely enjoy their regular tare too! The assorted tempura items atop a bed of fluffy japanese rice were very well-executed β€” light, crispy, flavourful but not overly greasy. They leave a clean taste and do not taste oily at all unlike many other tendons. Perfect to have them on their own too!

Was so happy I got their 𝙩𝙧π™ͺπ™›π™›π™‘π™š π™˜π™π™–π™¬π™–π™£π™’π™ͺπ™¨π™π™ž ($𝟹.𝟾𝟢) too! This cup of steaming hot, wobbly egg custard was generously topped with truffle that completely enhanced the overall flavour profile. This was so good and a must-try here!

I also got their π™„π™£π™–π™£π™žπ™¬π™– 𝙐𝙙𝙀𝙣 π™Žπ™šπ™© ($𝟸𝟺.𝟾𝟢). I really enjoyed dipping the cold silky udon into the accompanying sauce which was so refreshing and flavourful! The combination of udon with the lightly battered crispy tempura was so comforting and good too. Definitely a set to consider getting here too!

I absolutely enjoyed my entire dining experience here at their shaw house outlet with amazing ambience and great service! Definitely heading back again for their value-for-money tendon sets!
