I'm not one to post reviews, but I was overwhelmingly disappointed with the Establishment Bar. I was excited to go to the Establishment Bar. I'd only heard good things, and was ready to go to one of my first high-end restaurants to celebrate a friends 19th birthday over good food and elegant environment. Upon entry, we were greeted by waitresses with a "you don't belong here" kind of attitude. Once seated, we were told to go to the bar if we wanted to order, and to "stay in our seats". For 10 minutes we talked, had no idea how to find a menu, weren't offered water or anything, once did a waitress ask if we were good. When trying to order from the bar, we had pre-booked including a $300 tab to spend, though we did not receive a number, so when we first ordered, we had no access to our own tab. We were excited for the food- buying the Strip loin Steak ($32.50), my friend ordering medium rare, I ordered rare. Once both of these came out, they were blue, we were stuck trying to hack through the steak with a butter knife. Along with a slice of steak that may as well still be alive, it was bland. All together, I would have enjoyed going to the local Mc Donalds, as I feel we would have had better service there. On a side note, the entrees and drinks at the bar were delicious.
The Place
An extravagant bar sitting at the heart of Sydney CBD is so grand and elegant that they have a 42-metre-long marble bar inside. Although the food is a mix of standard pub fare like your steaks, fish and pasta, the drinks menu is superb! From cocktails, beers and a long list of wines, we can't deny that the Establishment Bar knows their post-work tipple very well!

7 Jan 2019A very lush spacious venue right in the think of it in Sydney. Quick and easy service and great place for a drink and a quick bite. Towards the back there is a space to hire for parties. This looked brilliant and an awesome venue to celebrate an occasion. Would come here again for sure!!!

20 Jun 2020The bar is great, we're lined up outside and some poor guy behind us wonder what the upstairs leads to and asks the Asian lady security looking after the queue and she humiliates him in front of every one, and mind you this is before covid-19 so at least a hundred people watching this wondering what's upstairs, didn't try to go in or anything. Just a description of this disgusting human being; she's some kind of asian, over weight and about 5'8" I've seen her in the Ivy as well.
