A famous bakery; the bread and pastry here are to die for. Price-wise, as you'd expected for a place with such high demand. There are benches outside for you to enjoy your bread there and then. I didn't see hot drinks being served (I don't think most bakeries do serve hot drinks), so don't come here expecting to have lunch! It's a bakery, a fantastic one at that.
The Place
This charming boulangerie boasts an extravagant decor featuring glided ceilings and alfrescoes, but they aren't just there for looks. The bread here is some of the very best you can get in Paris.
Insider Tips
Aside from the rustic loaves on offer here, not to be missed is the iconic chocolate and pistachio escargot (no, not the actual snails!), a delightfully buttery viennoiserie featuring a decadent swirl of said chocolate and pistachio cream.

3 Mar 2020A very traditional French bakery with a lot of types of breads from salty to sweet options. It's usually busy since it is a famous touristic point, but although the quality is good, you can get the same bread in other not so busy bakeries. They also just speak French which is not so friendly for those who struggle with the language.

9 Feb 2020Got here early and there was no line. Bought over £50 worth of pastries: nifflettes (little puff pastries with sweet potato filling), apple croissants, almond croissants, butter croissants, the pistachio and chocolate escargot and the praline escargot. The croissants were all well layered and crunchy/soft with a sweet paste in the middle. The butter croissants were average. The escargots were average tasting but 100% aesthetic. They offer breads and other pastries as well.

24 Jan 2020I will never forget the smell of this bakery! It was so good! I got there one cold evening in January, and they were out of mostly everything except for their Gallete des Rois. So I got that, and wasn't at all disappointed! It was so flaky and crispy and flavorful (I ate it about 3 hours after purchasing when I got back to my hotel). Would definitely come back to try their most famous pistachio and chocolate escargots.

14 Jul 2020You can smell the bakery from a mile away! You know a good bakery from its smell. Good variety of breads and pastries. Slightly pricey but definitely worth every Euro. Friendly owner who speaks good English and can explain the different items displayed.
