Ok, I don’t know what the hype is about. I would probably come back if the line wasn’t so long and the staffs were friendlier (just because I lived in the area). There are other ramen places in Sapporo that are much more accessible and less waiting time, so I would EASILY pick another restaurant without hesitation. The veggies were stir fried, so you would definitely taste a little punch of the fry pan, coupled with a mouthful of oil that was used to facilitate the cooking. The broth was fragrant and tasty enough, but still on the greasy side. Toppings are quite plain and simple. This place is so popular though, they even have to hire security ojisans to direct traffic in the parking lot. I would say the average waiting time is 30 minutes and more? I say Nah, go somewhere else.
The Place
Another contender for the title of the “the best ramen in Sapporo”, this restaurant is tucked in a quiet neighbourhood, away from the hustle and bustle of the Susikino district. Upon first glance, you wouldn’t have guessed that they were awarded a MICHELIN Guide Bib Gourmand in 2019! So popular is it that the local train station even constructed a sign directing tourists in their direction! The broth is full of flavour while being surprisingly light, achieved through a mixture of pork and fish stock, which imparts richness without being overly fatty.
Insider Tips
While they don’t have an English menu available, just let them know you want the miso ramen and you’re all set.

21 Jan 2020Amazing ramen. The miso did not disappoint (my friend said the spicy miso was even better. Sipped until the last drop of broth). The ginger gave a nice kick to the punchy miso bowl. The smokey bean sprouts was a nice touch. And the noodles was chewy, in a good way, giving it a satisfying bite. Not too far from the subway station too. Terrific bowl.

19 Jan 2020Really interesting and delicious ramen. I tried the miso ramen which is different to other ones I've had before. Quite fragrant, and somehow rich and light at the same time. No English menu, so just try the miso or spicy miso, they are the best. A very local type place, but they are foreigner friendly. Highly recommended.

23 Aug 2020Hands down the best meal I have had in Japan. The miso ramen is full of flavour, complex and more-ish, without being overpowering or heavy. If I could, I would go back to Sapporo just for a bowl of this incredible deliciousness. Do not miss it!
