This is one of the best places in town for amazing lunch! The ambiance, service and food is worth the trip there. The amazing part of the food is that it’s not too spicy and the ingredients and herbs are so delicately put together that just lifts the spirits up! You feel you are truly enjoying a great meal prepared by chefs who care about their craft! I’m definitely coming back to try other dishes!!
The Place
What exactly is modern Sichuan cuisine? Well, we don't quite know the answer to that, but that's exactly what happens here at Birds of a Feather. Taking the heart and soul of Sichuan flavours and mixing with with Western influence is a bold move, but it works. Birds of a Feather is inspired by Chengdu's greenery, laid-back lifestyle and the co-mingling of east-and-west. This restaurant serves up a contemporary western style cuisine with influence of Sichuan cuisine. Serving up dishes like a Sichuan Oxtail Soup, their menu is unique to say the least.
Insider Tips
The Spicy Oriental Bolognese (available as in a non-spicy version for our chilli-weak friends) is one of their signature dishes, and injects some spice into the humble bolognese. This dish brings out a complexity of flavours through multiple ingredients such as their finely fried minced pork, fried baby shrimp and their perfectly-cooked runny egg, and yet being able to complement each other well.

19 May 2023Ambiance and food is well done. The staff are very attentive and will answer all questions. Make sure to check on the Angus OP size - minimum is over 600g so definitely not for a small group. The only item that wasn’t very good was the spicy slime shine but everything else was delicious.

18 Jun 2023Szechuan cuisine served here. Chicken in chillies is good, other dishes that we tried were pretty average for the price. Fantastic service from restaurant staff.

25 Jun 2023Tourist friendly place for fusion Sichuan Chinese food lovers! Perfect for people who can't tolerate spicy food. Even though most of the dishes look red and intimidating, the food here is not spicy. Dishes that are usually spicy from authentic Chinese restaurants is made with less chilli here. Despite the cut on chilli, all dishes are still yummy and flavourful. I feel that their focus here is more on spices. Cocktails are interesting and refreshing. All Chinese food dishes that local Chinese are familiar with has a fancy English name here. Example, "Find the Chicken in the Chillies" is "辣子鸡 (La Zi Ji - Sichuan Mala Chicken)" and "Barramundi Chazuke" is 酸菜鱼 (Suan Cai Yu - Sauerkraut Fish). The plating of food is nicely done. Food is good for sharing as the portion is quite big. However, air-conditioning was bad and the sofa was uncomfortable. Was sitting at the back of the restaurant (near the kitchen/panda clown painting) and it was hot. Was sweating throughout the meal but overall, I enjoyed the food and drinks!
